What Blast announced
Blast's official announcement says the network will be wound down because the team no longer sees an economically sustainable path for operating it. It asked users to withdraw assets to Ethereum mainnet, including balances held in the Blast PWA.
The team also said it would reduce the normal withdrawal delay to 24 hours. That is a network-mechanism timeframe, not a guarantee that every transfer will complete at a particular moment.
The deadline for the regular interface
The regular Blast interface is scheduled to accept withdrawals until 26 October 2026. Before then, the team planned to withdraw its Lido-related assets and warned that withdrawals would be temporarily unavailable during that step.
After the stated deadline, assets are not described as disappearing, but withdrawing them will require direct interaction with bridge contracts on Ethereum L1. That is a more technical route, so using the verified interface before the deadline is the simpler option.
What an asset holder should check
Check balances and the withdrawal route only in the official interface, confirm the destination Ethereum address, and account for network fees. Do not enter a seed phrase or sign unknown messages from links in chats, emails, or adverts.
Trading venues may separately change their rules for BLAST trading, deposits, and withdrawals. Bybit, for example, published its own timetable for ending BLAST operations. An exchange timetable and Blast's bridge-interface deadline are different matters and should be checked independently.
