Practical advantages
Native SegWit separates signature data from the main transaction structure. Under comparable conditions, spending from a modern address will usually have a lower virtual size than spending from a legacy address.
Bech32 is case-insensitive and includes a checksum that helps wallets detect many typing errors.
How to check an address
Compare the entire address, not only its first and last characters. Confirm that it begins with bc1q and belongs to the Bitcoin main network.
To receive fresh addresses from a hardware wallet, use a Native SegWit account. A small test transaction is sensible before transferring a large amount.
One address for one order
Use a deposit address only for the order in which it was issued. Conditions, validity period and digital signature are tied to that specific guarantee letter.
Reusing old payment details makes payment verification harder and can delay processing.
